An acupuncturist reads pulses. A fortuneteller reads palms. A doctor reads x-rays. And I read your home. I have consulted on hundreds and hundreds of homes over the last decade and I’m not hesitant to say – I can clearly make the connections for you between what is going on in your life and how it is showing up in your home. Your home is an intimate expression of who you are. One way for me to determine your state of being is by looking at the items and style of décor that you purposely choose to surround yourself with (artwork, collectibles, design themes, colors) and the unintentional ones as well (where your clutter keeps showing up, areas of neglect, extreme order through out, the state of your closet or even the height of your mirrors). They indicate what is going on with you emotionally, physically and spiritually. From your mood to your health to what is lurking in the deep recesses of your mind, it all comes to the surface to reveal itself in everything from fascinating metaphors to blatant symbolism and much more.
I can tell you what your fears are (look for my upcoming article in Spirituality & Health Magazine July/August 2013) and I can point out how your high blood pressure is not being supported, why it is hard for you to get out of debt, why you’re getting passed by for a promotion, why your partner feels trapped and your kids can’t get a good nights sleep. Virtually, whatever is jamming you up, holding you back, impeding your flow, bringing you down, I will see it and offer practical options to implement a transformation, both in your home and yourself.
Where can you start? Well, the next time you are lying in bed, can’t sleep and are tossing and turning, look around. Do you have exercise equipment in your bedroom? Are you bombarding yourself with the disruptive electrical magnetic waves from your TV, iPad, cell phone charger or digital alarm clock? Do you have a pile of unread books or unfinished work by your bedside? Are the colors too bright or the patterns clashing? Are you sleeping on a mattress that you previously shared with an Ex? Is your bed positioned so that you can’t see who is entering the room? Do you have pictures of your family all over your bedroom? Have you used a lot of plastics and synthetics in your decorating choices? If you answered, “yes” to even one of these questions, it is time for a change. This is just one small example. Your home is rich in many lessons that are ensconcing you (and everyone else who lives there) every minute of your life. Once you are aware of the connections and you change up the patterns that are so deeply imbued in the energetic matrix of your space – you are on your way to freedom and to being the change that you hope to be.
