Media Attention for The Holistic Home Book

Many readers sent in their pictures of their Holistic Home arrival.

On January 19th, 2016, The Holistic Home: Feng Shui for Mind Body Spirit Space released everywhere books are sold. Leading up to this date and beyond, there has been a nice amount of press and talk. What I find so interesting, is the variety of wide ranging publications it has been featured in, which is a true testament to the extensive spread and growing development of what The Holistic Home offers. Without question, there is a growing movement for people seeking more from their spaces than just a place to put their stuff.  There is an enormous trend for cutting edge developers pursuing more than a marketing tool to attract conscientious home buyers and a reason why a highly respected school of architecture and design – Pratt –  offers a class based on my book. Ushered in on the heels of eating organically and living sustainably, this, is the new lifestyle movement of mindful living.

In the upcoming February Cosmopolitan, The Holistic Home was mentioned in the article for “Creating A Sexy Bed”. cosmo cover cosmo article 2

Also Brides and Vogue took notice of The Holistic Home’s tenants and delved a bit deeper into the subconscious underpinnings of the balance of relationships by examining the bedside “energetic anchors” also known as nightstands.

Going from intimate bedrooms to hotel rooms, Montage Magazine featured The Holistic Home in their publication which resides in thousands of luxury hotel rooms around the world. I was pleased that they mentioned tips that delve into the psychology of our spaces and how to dwell in more meaningful ways to create a supportive environment for ourselves.

House Beautiful wrote an article about color associations from The Holistic Home and was somehow able to take my words and create a beautiful color chart along with stunning pictures.

Architectural Digest mentioned the book – which was nice (However, I do not suggest “moving around kitchen appliances” as an option and they attributed that as one of my recommendations. Its simply not a reasonable option – unless you are starting from scratch.) Oh well, thanks anyway AD.

Last week it was an interview for USA Today for “Backyards with Meaning” and today was an interview for Newsweek for a story on “Spiritual Living” coming out March 8th. As more interviews are scheduled, I’m grateful for the mentions but I’m most thrilled about the media sources that are “getting” it. This is not the Feng Shui of the ’90’s. This is not about filling your home with ethnic tchotchkes because you think Foo Dogs or frogs with coins are going to bring you luck.  This is not about having a door facing north or even painting your front door red. The Holistic Home is about looking deeper beneath the surface and drawing the connections between your space and self. This is Feng Shui Now. Our intimate spaces we create – our homes – are mirrors for our deepest challenges and our greatest joys. Often our homes show more of the negatives than the positives because it takes a lot of work and awareness to make the associations and be proactive to create an environment that supports the best for us. This book will help you navigate it all and I’m grateful for the growing awareness.

How does your home show your challenges and how do you address that? I’d love to hear from you.
