I’ve NEVER written a post like this before. But I am FURIOUS with UPS for damaging an extremely important package, giving me the run-around about it, making false promises of saying that they would definitely call me back twice and never did, and denying a legitimate claim to reimburse what they ruined. It all began when I sent out the most important package of my career. It was so important that I packaged it with extra care, bubble wrap and peanuts and even took out FIVE TIMES the amount of insurance! I put FRAGILE stickers on every side. When the UPS deliveryman arrived at the recipient’s porch, he dropped it there and tried to walk away without even ringing her bell. She came out and was horrified that the box was busted open on all sides, had small holes, a caved in area on top and black marks all over that looked like tire marks. She brought it in and immediately took a picture of it.
When she opened the box, everything inside was destroyed. Jars were broken and leaking. All the custom products that took us over one month to make were all useless. Labels and brochures were all stained. It was a leaking mess and she threw it out. I called UPS and guess what? They told me that because an inspector didn’t come out and actually see the mess, I can not get reimbursed. The worse part was, all of these Holistic Home goods were to be used for a once-on-a-lifetime presentation where executives from near and far were coming together to evaluate my product for a significant deal that would alter the trajectory of my business in a big way.
I’ve spoken to several customer service reps and when I spoke to the past supervisor, Samantha, I really felt hopeful that she would resolve this. She promised me (after twice not hearing back from someone when they told me it would happen) that “someone would definitely call me on Friday October 30th”. Guess what? It never happened.
As I am about to embark on my book promotional tour, for The Holistic Home, and talking about how its been to start and run this business, I plan on telling every talk show and news outlet how the big, bully juggernaut corporation of UPS (who run endless marketing campaigns about how they help small business’s) are really full of crap. They try to wear you down by putting you hold for hours, telling you they will call back and never do because they are hoping you will just give up and not pursue it anymore. Well, guess what UPS? I am not giving up. I will relentlessly pursue this injustice to the end. Because I did my due diligence and have proof that you did wrong. Its a shame that you can’t do the right thing here. I will let the world know about this until you make it right. I will not give up.
